You can take the trees away from the girl but not the girl away from the trees.
I feel honored to be telling the story of what my family has created, which has given me the opportunity to branch off Victory Gardens into what it is today and what I hope it may become.
Spending my summers at the nursery taught me what hard work looks and feels like. My parents started Victory Greens 30 years ago on 25 acres where a lonely farmhouse and barn stood surrounded by farmland. Watching my parents dedicating decades of their lives into Victory ‘Greens’ was a lesson that I’ll forever be thankful for. It showed me that the ordinary man can ‘make it ‘as long as consistency, perseverance and tenacity endure the various trials.
As a young adult, I decided to go to school for radiology as I didn’t realize what I was leaving behind. Even though the gardens were calling, I believe the skills I acquired while getting my bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiology did assist in future endeavors.
Chase and I met in the mountains of Cascade, Idaho, where he was working as a wildlands firefighter while I was in school. We fell quick. We loved the trees and often discussed our favorite tree choices even then. His was a tamarack and mine, an aspen. We moved back to the Treasure Valley where Chase became an electrician, and I finished school getting a job at an orthopedic clinic. We got pregnant, had our son, and I dove deep into gardening again.
Covid changed the nursery industry, making it explode. I returned to Victory Greens to assist them in their transition from Meridian/Victory to Meridian/Amity due to development. I dove into operations and LOVED it, helping grow my management skills. I started growing passion for processes and efficiency within our industry and wanted to attach those skills to a new project, Victory Gardens.
I was pregnant with Riley when Chase and I decided to launch Victory Gardens at my family’s old location on Meridian/Victory roads. We spent an unlimited number of hours in DIY construction catching infrastructure up to speed, while also building a café from a trailer. I had Riley in October of 2023 and we opened Victory Gardens' doors in April of 2024.
We founded Victory Gardens on community, family and God-given nature. We didn’t want to just be a Garden Center but also a feeling and an experience. We also wanted to support our fellow local family businesses, which led us to carrying over 16 local vendors' products within our café and boutique. We started as a Garden Center but have opened a café, house|plant boutique, an event center and a gathering place. We have plans of adding a spa and restaurant one day... one step at a time.
We are honored to be part of our community’s family experiences and memories! Thank you for being here. Truly!
